Melissa Patton from Carolina Land and Lakes RC&D will share their Pellets for Poultry program and how it can benefit poultry producers and integrators. Learn how converting from propane furnaces to new wood pellet furnaces can improve bird health and reduce energy costs.
Learn about Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy grant opportunities available through the Western NC Energy Cost-share Assistance Program (energyCAP) and the Rural Energy for America Program (REAP). Alex Arnold will cover the following:
  • Connection to project funding courses
  • Site assessments for renewable energy projects, i.e., Solar
  • Energy audits for energy efficiency projects, i.e., LED lighting for poultry houses
  • Information on grid interconnection policies and tax credits
  • Grant application assistance
