  “So You Want to Start a Food Business?”

Cooperative Extension will host a workshop for persons interested in starting or expanding a food business. The workshop will be held on Wednesday, May 10, 2017 from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. at the Agricultural Resources Center, 444 Bristol Dr., Statesville, N.C.

The purpose of the workshop is to provide information about starting several types of food businesses, including restaurants and home-food processing. Selling meat, poultry and eggs will also be covered. A panel of representatives from agencies that regulate food for sale to the public will be available and answer questions. Attendees will also learn about services available through the Mitchell Community College Small Business Center.

Lunch will be provided after the workshop. There is no charge to attend, but pre-registration is required. To pre-register by Friday, May 5, 2017, call 704-873-0507.
